The Rich Man

The Rich Man As an underemployed government clerk, Ken was both frustrated at work and concerned about the continual overdraft in his bank account by means of which he managed to scrape through the month until the next paycheck. He nearly quit his job, but the company that wanted to hire him was suddenly in need of cutting back on personnel. At about the same time, Ken began to give maaser.

Soon after, it was discovered that he was entitled to back pay of tens of thousands of shekels, which he could not have known if he had quit. In the course of the years since then, there have been other retroactive payments, a forgotten savings plan, discovery of a piece of paper revealing a large pension from a previous job, compensation pay from his building contractor as the result of a trial, and so on. It seems that whenever financial straits appear on the horizon, another miracle gives more than enough room to maneuver.

Today Ken is a rich man: He knows he doesn't have to worry about having enough money, and he's constantly giving lots of it away to charity.
