The above list is based on the pamphlet "Mosdot Tzibur", a list of public institutions authorized for the purpose of donations according to section 46 of the Israeli income tax regulations. The pamphlet was published for the Income and Property Tax Commission of the Israeli Treasury Department by Ronen Publishers in Tel Aviv.
I have selected some institutions from the January 1995 pamphlet and from issues of updates until November 1996. Some of the information from the pamphlet was inaccurate and has been corrected. However, it is most likely that errors remain. Please inform me of returned mail or the necessity of corrections that come to your attention.
All the institutions listed here were at some time authorized for the purpose of giving tax credit to their contributors. However, this authorization may have been annulled after the last update that I have checked. In order to check whether the authorization is still in effect, the entity number of the institution can be entered on the website of the Ministry of Finance. Unfortunately, this service is available only in Hebrew on their website. Go to the Ministry of Finance website and select non-profit organizations ("malkarim" in Hebrew). Then select the option for inquiry on public institutions. Enter the entity number and check to see if the institution is listed. If so, the institution is approved for giving tax credit to donators.
